Heather Blasnek, a recruiter, and long-time advocate for small businesses, will lead the new group. Heather has built her career helping businesses grow by finding the right people. Her background in recruiting and operations gives her a clear understanding of what businesses need to succeed. That same mindset will guide her leadership within NIA.
"I've always had a passion for supporting small businesses", Heather says. When she discovered Network In Action, it instantly caught her attention. "Most networking I'd seen before felt like a business card exchange with little real connection. But NIA's use of technology and its fresh, results-driven approach made me think, this is different and exciting!"
Heather sees the franchise as a natural extension of her recruiting work. She shares that in her job, "it's all about listening, asking smart questions, and truly understanding their goals. That naturally blends with what I'll be doing with NIA—building strong, strategic connections that help businesses thrive. It's the perfect way to expand the support I already love providing."
When asked why she moved forward with the franchise, Heather pointed to the endless possibilities. "There's so much flexibility to shape each group based on what members actually want. I love that I can listen to feedback, try new ideas, and build something truly valuable instead of a one-size-fits-all model."
Heather's NIA group will meet monthly on the third Tuesday afternoon in Downtown Colorado Springs. The venue will be announced soon, but she promises a professional and welcoming environment that encourages open conversation and strong relationships.
To kick off the launch, Heather is hosting a Next Level Networking event on June 26 at 3:30 PM at Kinship Landing Hotel. The event will feature Scott Talley, the founder of Network In Action, and give attendees a chance to experience the format and value of NIA firsthand.
